Artist's Comments

All I remember is that it was freakin freezing outside! At least now I know that ISO 400 is not the best choice for shots like this :)

ah... winter is cool and beautiful and even so when your the one standing stiff
:icondimitarmisev:
thank you!! it's nothing hard (apart from the cold and trying to not breathe near the camera because it'll immediately condensate and look like it has rained :D) I suppose it's even colder in Canada? ^^
soo, put the camera on a tripod, open the shutter, close it after half an hour or so, and you're done :) while the shutter is open, the earth rotates and the stars leave pretty trails on the film ;)

When I do my long exposure night shots I always use the lowest ISO possible. On my Nikon that's 200. Just thought I'd throw that out there for you. I'm no expert at it, but I like those star trail shots

yeah sure, but it's a bit different on a film camera ;) You know, there's clear sky and everything, but the film in the camera is ISO 400 and you can't change it in the middle of the roll, so you have to go with what you have :)
thank you!

Yup, it's pretty hard to change it up in the middle of a roll of film  I didn't realize it was shot with a film camera--I thought it was digital.

I love the star trails idea :D
My brother had a telescope which he attached a camera to, to take close-up photos of the moon. But by the time he'd set it up, the moon had moved :P wonder what a very very long exposure would have produced...
